Classic FM’s Big Birthday Bake

This September, to mark 30 years of Classic FM, we are inviting you to get involved with Classic FM’s Big Birthday Bake.

We want as many people to be involved as possible and even your favourite Classic FM presenters will be joining in! The best part is it’s all to raise money for Classic FM’s charity, Global’s Make Some Noise. All you need to do is sign up, bake your delicious cakes and invite your friends round to enjoy the spoils and raise money for charity.

So whether your go-to recipe is a Red (Velvet) Priest, a Beethoven ‘ba-na-na-naaa’ cake or Bach’s ‘Battenburg’ Concertos, join us by baking up a storm in the kitchen to celebrate 30 years of Classic FM.

Our friends at Wright’s Baking have included everything you need to make your Classic FM's Big Birthday Bake simple, with delicious recipes to get you started using their Wright’s mixes. What’s more, you’ll even find a recipe from Anne-Marie Minhall for her Feisty Fruit Cake!

If you are one of the first 100 people to sign up, you will receive the iconic Classic FM ‘f’ in delicious icing that you can use to decorate your baking. Just make sure to select that you want to receive one and if you are one of the first 100 sign ups, we will send it to you in the post.

And once your creation is in the tin, out of the oven and ready to go, we’d love to see what you’ve made.

Post it on social media using the hashtag #ClassicFMsBigBirthdayBake. Don’t forget to tag Classic FM and Global’s Make Some Noise!

Global’s Make Some Noise believes that everyone deserves to feel safe, feel well, feel included and feel prepared. That’s why we work across four key areas; providing shelter and safety, supporting physical and mental health, preventing isolation and improving life skills.

Wright’s Baking

Wright’s, the home of Homebaking, is proud to be rising to the occasion by sponsoring Classic FM’s Big Birthday Bake.

Wright’s Baking is a family-run flour mill established by George Reynolds Wright in 1867.

With over 150 years of milling experience, the Wright family has always been at the forefront of blending traditional skills with innovation to ensure they consistently produce top-quality flours and mixes for their customers. Today David and James Wright, the 5th and 6th generation of his family to run the mill, are as passionate about the business as their ancestors and continue to oversee the development of the mill and its dedicated workforce. Located in Enfield, by the river Lea, there has been a mill on the site since around 1067, and some parts of today’s buildings date back to 1650.

Over many generations, Wright’s flour has been renowned for its superior baking characteristics. With the skills and highly sophisticated technology employed today, the product quality and value for money are better than ever. Wright’s cake mixes offer a quick and simple route to make great-tasting cakes, muffins, cupcakes or tray bakes for all occasions – add water and a little oil and your imagination, and away you go.

You can buy your Wright’s cake mixes from Wright’s Baking.
